Are you a caring, patient, and enthusiastic person with a heart for working with children who have additional needs? A warm and welcoming primary school in Slough is looking for a full time Teaching Assistant to join their nurturing team in the Alternative Provision unit. This is a rewarding opportunity to help children build confidence, feel safe, and enjoy learning in a supportive environment.
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in helping primary-aged students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs find their feet and develop valuable life skills. You’ll work closely with other supportive staff, bringing positively, patience, and encouragement to each school day.

Responsibilities:
  •  Provide gentle, supportive guidance to help children with SEMH needs feel secure and engaged.
  •  Support children’s emotional well-being and encourage positive behaviour through patience and empathy.
  •  Work with teachers and other LSAs to create a fun, safe, and inspiring environment.
  •  Help plan and participate in exciting enrichment activities that let kids explore their interests and talents.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with SEMH or in a nurturing role with young children (helpful but not essential!).
  • A big heart, loads of patience, and a positive outlook.
  • Team spirit and a commitment to making every child feel valued.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
At Supply Hive, safeguarding is our priority, and all applicants must pass relevant checks.
