Step into 2025 with a Role that Makes a Difference! We’re seeking a compassionate and motivated Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic special school in High Wycombe. This role focuses on supporting children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) in a nurturing and inclusive environment where the school provides a safe, welcoming space tailored to the needs of pupils aged 3-19 with complex learning needs. 
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping pupils with PMLD reach their full potential. You’ll support children with varying needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and communication challenges, ensuring they feel valued, safe, and empowered. This is a highly rewarding role where you’ll see the tangible impact of your work every day.

Responsibilities:
  • 🤝 Provide 1:1 or small group support, ensuring individual learning plans are followed.
  • 🌟 Assist with therapeutic and sensory-based activities to promote engagement and development.
  • 💬 Support pupils in developing communication skills, including using alternative communication methods.
  • 🧘‍♀️ Help pupils with physical needs, including personal care, mobility, and feeding.
  • 🏫 Create a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment.
Requirements:
  • ✅ Previous experience working with children with PMLD or complex needs is desirable.
  • ✨ A caring, patient, and resilient approach.
  • 🏫 Level 2 or 3 TA qualification or equivalent is preferred.
  • 🧩 An understanding of the importance of sensory and therapeutic activities in supporting learning.
  • 💪 A willingness to assist with personal care and physical support.
