About the School:

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual or small group support to students with complex additional needs including PMLD, SLCN, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans, tailoring learning activities to the specific needs of each child.
- Deliver personal care, including toileting, feeding, dressing, and mobility assistance, ensuring the dignity and comfort of each student.
- Support children’s social development, communication, and emotional regulation, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists (such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists), parents, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for each child.
- Participate in training sessions to develop skills related to the support of children with complex medical and learning needs.
- Follow school policies on safeguarding and child welfare to ensure the safety of all students.
- Experience working with children with complex special educational needs (e.g., PMLD, SLCN, physical disabilities) or relevant experience in a care setting where transferable skills are evident.
- Experience in providing personal care for children or adults with additional needs is essential.
- Understanding of different communication methods, including PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) or Makaton (desirable but not essential).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Passion for creating an inclusive learning environment and making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with SEN.
- A Level 3 qualification in childcare or a relevant field is desirable but not essential.
