The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, therapists and other support staff to deliver education that is tailored to support our students needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and/or small group support to children (aged 3-18) with SEN who require additional support.
- Follow the guidance of class teachers and assist in the planning/delivery of individualised learning activities.
- Support children with their education, social development and regulating their emotions.
- Follow and implement Individualised educational plans (IEPs) and/or behavioural support plans.
- Support students personal care needs as required.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents and specialists to ensure a cohesive approach to each students personal and educational development.
- Partake in personal and professional development training so as to up skill your abilities.
- Experience working with, and/or an intrinsic passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
- OR experience in care/social care/other relevant sector with transferable skills.
- An understanding of various learning difficulties such as Autism Spectrum Disorder is desired but not essential.
- Well defined communication skills and a strong ability to work well in a team.
- A genuine enthusiasm for working with children with SEN.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment, promoting student well-being and education.
- A Level 3 childcare qualification is desired but not required.
