As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide 1:1 support to students with a range of needs, including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Speech and Language challenges, and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs. You’ll work closely with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive, nurturing learning environment and help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students based on their Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Assist with the planning and delivery of lessons and activities that meet individual needs
- Motivate students and support those with challenging behaviour or dysregulated emotions
- Collaborate with class teachers, SENDCOs, and therapists to address barriers to learning
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student well-being
- Provide constructive feedback on student progress to teachers and parents
- Assist with personal care as required
- Experience working with children or adults with SEN, particularly Autism, MLD, and speech & language difficulties
- Confidence in creating an inclusive learning environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to stay calm and adaptable in challenging situations
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN and promoting their well-being
- Relevant qualifications in education or social care are desired, but not required
- An enhanced DBS on the update service and up-to-date safeguarding training.
Pay £90-99.00 per day (PAYE) + Holiday Pay
