Are you a passionate and energetic person, dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? Supply Hive is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a talented and compassionate KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a local specialist school.

The successful candidate will work alongside teachers, therapists, and support staff to foster the personal, social, and educational growth of children with SEN, particularly focusing on students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Speech and Language challenges, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored sports and physical activities that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Support students' physical, social, and emotional development, using sports as a tool to boost self-esteem and resilience.
  • Provide individualised support in accordance with each student’s Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Foster an inclusive and encouraging environment where students feel inspired, safe, and motivated to participate in activities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, offering feedback to teachers, therapists, and other support staff.
  • Support children in managing challenging behaviours and emotions, helping them stay engaged in their learning and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to break down barriers to education and ensure a holistic approach to student well-being and success.
  • Assist with personal care needs when necessary, ensuring a safe and supportive classroom experience.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children and/or adults with SEN, particularly those with Autism, MLD, and Speech and Language difficulties.
  • A strong background in sports and a passion for using physical activities to nurture confidence in children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • An understanding of how individual SEN needs can impact learning and development.
  • A valid enhanced DBS check and up-to-date safeguarding training.
  • Relevant qualifications in sports, education, or childcare are desired but not required.
Pay: £95.00 per day (PAYE & Holiday Pay).
