As a Supply Teacher, you will cover lessons for students with a range of needs, predominantly focused on Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) issues. The students have often faced significant challenges or traumatic experiences, so we need someone who can bring a calm, understanding, and consistent approach to the classroom. You’ll be helping them rebuild trust in education and supporting their academic and emotional development.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching students with SEN, particularly those with SEMH needs, is highly desirable.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students who may struggle with traditional learning environments.
- A flexible, patient, and empathetic attitude.
- The ability to quickly build rapport with students and adapt to different class groups.
- Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons in line with the needs of students with SEMH and SEN.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs and help them achieve their learning goals.
- Create a positive, supportive learning environment where students feel safe and valued.
- Work collaboratively with support staff and other teachers to maintain continuity for students across their lessons.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role as well as the Right to Work in the UK. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
