As a Sensory Intervention Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with pupils who require additional help to engage in learning and manage sensory processing challenges. This rewarding role involves providing tailored support in a calm, structured environment, helping children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities
- 🌟 Support pupils with sensory needs to enhance their learning experiences.
- 🎨 Implement sensory interventions and calming strategies in line with pupils’ individual education plans (IEPs).
- 📚 Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to adapt classroom activities for optimal inclusion.
- 🧩 Monitor progress, offering encouragement and positive reinforcement.
- 💬 Foster communication and social skills, creating a supportive atmosphere for pupils.
- 📘 Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly sensory challenges, is desirable.
- ✨ A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to support individual pupil needs.
- 🎓 Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent).
- ✅ Commitment to upholding safeguarding standards.
- 🌍 Right to Work in the UK.
