We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistant to join one of our fantastic primary schools in Wokingham. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with young learners, helping to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.

The school is a warm, welcoming environment, focused on nurturing both academic and personal growth. It’s a close-knit community where staff, students, and parents work together to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere. Classrooms are filled with engaging learning materials, vibrant displays of student work, and interactive activities designed to encourage curiosity and creativity.

Teachers take a child-centred approach, tailoring support to meet the diverse needs of all students, particularly those with SEN. There’s an emphasis on emotional well-being alongside academic achievement, with pastoral care being as important as academic instruction. Staff are approachable and collaborative, fostering a strong sense of belonging.

The school is also progressive, with a focus on continuous development for both students and staff, promoting a growth mindset.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher with planning and delivering lessons.
  • Work with individual pupils or small groups, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN), to enhance their learning experience.
  • Assist in creating a positive, inclusive classroom where all children can thrive.
  • Provide emotional and behavioural support to pupils when needed, helping them stay focused and engaged.
  • Contribute to the overall well-being and progress of the children in your care.
What we’re looking for:
  • Experience in a school or childcare setting, ideally within a primary school.
  • A patient, supportive, and empathetic approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Experience with SEN or a willingness to undergo training to support children with additional needs.
Why Work With Us?
  • A friendly and collaborative school community in the heart of Wokingham.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career progression.
If you’re passionate about making a difference in children’s lives and want to help them succeed, we’d love to hear from you.
