Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support, adapting learning to meet each pupil’s needs
- Assist students with communication, social interaction, and sensory regulation
- Support pupils with physical disabilities, mobility needs, or medical conditions, ensuring their comfort and safety
- Use structured routines, visual supports, and therapeutic strategies to enhance learning and engagement
- Help with personal care tasks where required, promoting dignity and independence
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to support students’ development and well-being
- Foster a positive, encouraging learning atmosphere that promotes student success
- Experience working with SEN pupils, particularly those with PMLD, SLD, or autism, is highly desirable
- A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting children with complex needs
- Ability to implement structured learning and therapeutic strategies
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with staff, therapists, and families
- An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
