We are looking for a dedicated Full-Time Teaching Assistant to join a primary school that provides a safe and supportive environment for children with social, emotional, and mental health additional needs. The school focuses on helping students who face challenges with emotional regulation, behaviour, and self-confidence. By creating a structured and nurturing environment, the school aims to give each child the tools to succeed academically while building resilience and emotional well-being.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support primary-age students with SEMH needs. Your role will involve providing individual and group support, helping students engage with the curriculum, manage their emotions, and develop important social skills. You’ll be an integral part of creating a positive, calm, and inclusive classroom atmosphere, enabling students to build their confidence and succeed in their learning journey.
Responsibilities:
🌟 Classroom Support – Assist with the delivery of lessons, providing tailored support for students in both group and 1:1 settings.
🌟 Emotional and Behavioural Support – Help students manage their emotions and behaviour, fostering a positive learning environment.
🌟 Encourage Independence – Support students in developing social skills and greater independence in their learning.
🌟 Collaboration – Work closely with the class teacher and other staff to create a nurturing and inclusive environment for all students.
Requirements:
📚 Experience – Previous experience working with primary-age students, particularly those with SEMH or similar needs.
📚 Qualifications – Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience.
📚 Understanding of SEMH – Experience supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
📚 Team Player – Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and students to ensure the best outcomes for every child.
