The Role As a Teaching Assistant in the SEN unit, you will work closely with students who have additional needs, providing tailored support to help them engage with their learning. You will assist in developing individual learning strategies, managing behaviour positively, and creating a safe, structured environment where students feel valued and supported. This role is perfect for someone patient, empathetic, and committed to making a real difference.
Responsibilities 🌟
- Support students with special educational needs on a one-to-one or small-group basis
- Assist in implementing individual learning plans and adapting activities to meet students’ needs
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional well-being
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to provide holistic support
- Create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
- Experience working with children with SEN, particularly autism, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties
- A caring and patient approach to supporting children with additional needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- A willingness to undertake relevant training
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role as well as the Right to Work in the UK. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
