The successful candidate will work alongside teachers and other support staff in assisting children with Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and/or Speech and Language difficulties. As a SEN Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students educational, social and emotional needs, and ensuring they have the necessary tools and support needed to succeed!
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised support to students that follows their Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and or Education, Health and Care plans (EHCPs).
- Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored lessons, activities and interventions.
- Support students with emotional regulation.
- Foster safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student well being and learning.
- Assist with personal care as needed.
- Experience working with children and/or adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- A good knowledge on strategies to support children with special educational needs such as Autism, MDL and Speech and language difficulties.
- Well developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- A genuine passion for working with children with SEN.
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare and/or social support are desired but not required.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service
- Up to date safeguarding training.
