The successful candidate with work alongside teachers and specialists to support the personal and educational development of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), with a focus on students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist class teachers with the development and implementation of educational programs tailored to the unique needs of each child.
- Promoting students personal, social and educational development through physical health, teamwork and confidence building activities.
- Promote a positive and inclusive environment where students feel motivated and valued.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers, therapists and other support staff.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment where students can develop healthy habits and resilience.
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs in a sports or educational setting.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- An understanding of how individual SEMH needs may effect learning and personal development.
- A valid and enhanced DBS check.
- Up to date safeguarding training.
