Year 6 Class Teacher
Start date: January 2025
Full Time (Part time applicants are welcome)

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a passionate Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive primary school in Reading. This full-time role is perfect for both experienced educators and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking for a manageable yet rewarding teaching position. With most of the planning handled collaboratively in phase meetings and no written marking required, this role offers a balanced workload that allows you to focus on delivering engaging and effective lessons. We are also able to pay you to scale and develop your career.

As a Year 6 Teacher, you’ll play a key role in supporting students through their final year of primary education, helping to ensure they are prepared for the next step in their academic journey. The collaborative planning approach and verbal marking policy create an environment where you can concentrate on delivering high-quality lessons and connecting with your students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaboratively plan lessons in phase meetings, with minimal additional planning required outside of these sessions
  • Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that meet the Key Stage 2 curriculum standards
  • Conduct verbal marking, providing immediate feedback to students to support their learning and progress
  • Foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and well-being
  • Work closely with colleagues, parents, and support staff to provide each child with the best educational experience
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment
  • ECTs welcome, with structured support and mentorship provided
Benefits:
  • Collaborative planning in phase meetings, reducing workload outside school hours
  • Verbal marking policy, eliminating the need for written marking and allowing for efficient feedback
  • Supportive leadership and professional development opportunities tailored to career growth
  • Welcoming school culture with a focus on teamwork and well-being
This role is an ideal fit for a teacher looking for a supportive environment that prioritises well-being and classroom engagement over administrative tasks. Join a team that values your contributions and supports your professional journey.
