As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll provide vital support to children with SEMH, helping them build confidence, manage challenges, and achieve their goals. Working closely with teachers and other staff, you’ll assist in delivering a tailored curriculum designed to meet the individual needs of the students. This role also involves providing pastoral care, promoting positive behaviour, and supporting children in developing key life skills.
Responsibilities:
- 📚 Assist with classroom activities, adapting the curriculum as needed to meet individual learning goals.
- 💬 Support pupils in developing social and emotional skills.
- 🤝 Work 1:1 or with small groups to help children overcome barriers to learning.
- 🌟 Promote a positive and engaging learning environment.
- 🧘♀️ Help students manage their emotional and behavioural challenges effectively.
- ✅ Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desired but not essential.
- 🌟 A passion for working with children with SEMH needs.
- 🏫 Experience in a school or educational setting is preferred but not essential.
- 💪 Resilience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm in challenging situations.
