Role Overview: As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will take on an enhanced role within the classroom, providing valuable support to teachers and pupils alike. You will be expected to lead lessons, manage small group activities, and support pupils with special educational needs. This role is perfect for individuals who are experienced in educational settings and are ready to take on additional responsibilities to drive pupil achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver lessons under the direction and guidance of teaching staff
- Lead small group sessions and intervention activities to support pupil learning
- Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs
- Assist in the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and materials
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents
- Support the management of classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment
- Contribute to the development of individual education plans (IEPs) for pupils with special needs
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, with a track record of successful pupil support
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of the primary school curriculum
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for education and a commitment to pupil development
- Experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable
