Are you passionate about supporting young people who need help re-engaging with their education? A small, dedicated school in Slough is seeking caring and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants to work with children who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Many of the students have experienced trauma or challenging backgrounds, and your role will be key in helping them feel supported and empowered.

You’ll be working closely with children who may have difficulty engaging in traditional learning environments. Many of the students have SEMH needs, so a calm, patient, and empathetic approach is essential. You’ll be part of a team focused on rebuilding trust, boosting confidence, and helping these young people succeed academically and emotionally.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience working with children or young adults with SEMH or related needs (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and a positive outlook.
  • The ability to build trust and relationships with students who may have complex or traumatic backgrounds.
  • A desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.
Responsibilities:
  • Supporting students with SEMH needs in both one-to-one and group settings.
  • Helping students overcome barriers to learning and engaging them in education.
  • Assisting the class teacher in managing behaviour positively and creating an inclusive, safe environment.
  • Providing emotional and social support to students, helping them develop coping strategies and self-regulation skills.

Pay: £99.00 Per day.
