We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive secondary school that is committed to providing the best education for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role will involve working closely with a student who requires tailored support to access the curriculum and engage fully with school life. In this role, you will work 1:1 with a student, helping them overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

🌱 Assist with differentiation of learning materials and help adapt resources to meet the student's specific needs.
💬 Offer emotional and behavioural support, helping the student to develop social skills, manage emotions, and build resilience.
📝 Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to track the student’s progress and provide regular feedback to ensure continuous development.
👫 Support the student in developing independence in both academic and social settings, promoting self-confidence and autonomy.
🔄 Foster positive relationships with the student, encouraging engagement, motivation, and a love of learning.

Requirements:

📝 Experience working with students with SEN, particularly within a secondary school setting (experience with autism, ADHD, or SEMH is desirable).
🎓 Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent)
💖 Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
🚀 A patient, proactive, and empathetic approach, with a commitment to making a difference in the life of a student.
💡 Ability to work independently and as part of a team to support the student’s development.

At Supply Hive, safeguarding is a top priority. All candidates will undergo an enhanced DBS check.
If you're passionate about supporting students with SEN in a mainstream secondary school setting and ready to take on a fulfilling role, we'd love to hear from you!
