Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to a Year 1 pupil, helping them access the curriculum and engage in learning activities.
- Assist with individualised learning plans, adapting materials and lessons to suit the pupil’s needs.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies that promote the pupil’s academic and personal development.
- Support the child’s emotional and social well-being, ensuring they feel included and valued within the classroom.
- Help manage classroom behaviour, using positive reinforcement to encourage focus and engagement.
- Provide feedback to teachers, parents, and other staff members on the pupil’s progress and areas for further support.
- Assist with daily routines, transitions, and any specific care or learning requirements the pupil may have.
- Previous experience working with young children, ideally in a 1:1 setting, is preferred.
- A good understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly in early years or Key Stage 1.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting individual learning needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the child, teachers, and parents.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
